After a long and successful journalism career, Mark Meltzer made a switch to the other side. And now as a public relations executive, he’s facing off against the press, an audience he knows inside and out, giving him a distinctive edge in media relations. Mark served as executive editor of the Atlanta Business Chronicle for more than 20 years. During that time, he helped shape the editorial content of one of the nation’s largest business journals that is widely regarded as a must-read source of information on economic development in and around metro Atlanta. Thus, he has a keen understanding of the companies and organizations that define Atlanta’s business community and is well-versed in items that make the news, including politics, current events and the cultural issues of today. He also has a sharp mind for finance and has co-authored 10 books on personal finance with nationally syndicated consumer advocate Clark Howard. Three of his books appeared on the New York Times Best Sellers List, and one reached number one.

 

- Mark has relationships with journalists across the country. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Atlanta Press Club and co-chaired the nonprofit’s Finance and Operations Committee, as well as being a former club president, treasurer and programs chair.

On a Personal Note

• Mark attended one of the nation's top high schools, Bronx High School of Science, in New York.

• As someone who grew up in NYC, he didn’t learn to drive until he was 21 years old.

• He proudly survived 10 winters in Buffalo and Western New York.

• Together with his wife, Gina, Mark has a home in Mexico, which he considers his adoptive country.

• He loves to travel – some of his favorite destinations include Venice, Maui, and Sausalito, California.
