Bobblehead a homemade effort PUBLICATION: Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The (GA) EDITION: Home; The Atlanta Journal-Constitution SECTION: Business PAGE: F2
You don't have to have a big budget to make a client happy. But you do have to have ingenuity and be willing to get your fingers dirty. Just ask the folks at Hope-Beckham public relations. A client, the Georgia Force of the Arena Football League, wanted a giant bobblehead of the one of the league's smallest players, Markeith Cooper, who's 5 feet, 6 inches tall. So agency co-owner Bob Hope -- with the help of his son-in-law, went to work. The pair, with the help of others here and there, made the bobblehead in Hope's basement. The 8-foot-tall bobble is made of fiberglass and took three weeks to make. Hope, who had never undertaken such a task, said it was a fun experience, though he has little formal art training. "I used to enjoy drawing when I was a kid," he said. "And then a year ago my wife bought me art lessons for Christmas, so that's all the knowledge I had before I tried it."
