Old Time Baseball Game

Old Time Baseball Game
The Piedmont Park Conservancy, curator for Piedmont Park in midtown Atlanta, was looking to raise money for continued improvement and renovation of the park’s facilities as well as visibility of their history. Hope-Beckham formulated the idea to hold a vintage baseball game to kick-off the 100th birthday celebration of the park. The game was a 1903 reenactment game that featured local business and civic leaders, professional athletes and media personalities in replica uniforms playing old-fashioned ball by turn of the century rules. The vintage baseball game established a platform for the conservancy to achieve its goals. The festivities also included carnival games, vintage costumed characters, a brass band and barbershop quartet, antique automobiles and announcers.
