The Friendship Games

The Friendship Games
The Friendship Games basketball tournament for college basketball teams in Tel Aviv, Israel was created in 2006 by Atlanta Hawks co-owner Ed Peskowitz to unify countries in conflict throughout the world on a grass-roots level through the game of basketball. After its inaugural year, which saw little to no media coverage, Hope-Beckham was called upon to handle public relations opportunities and media requests from all over the world for the Second Annual Friendship Games in 2007. In addition to securing coverage in publications such as the USA Today, Forbes, Sports Business Journal, Los Angeles Times and the Atlanta Journal Constitution, HBI also secured coverage in other international media outlets from Beijing and across the state of Israel. Hope-Beckham was also called upon to create a Friendship Games Website that included daily updates leading up to and on location during the tournament. HBI also assisted in securing sponsors such as NIKE and PowerBar.
