Tom Hughes - Senior Vice President

Senior Vice President Tom Hughes joined Hope-Beckham in October 2007. He came to Hope-Beckham from Atlanta Spirit LLC, the parent company of the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Thrashers and Philips Arena, where he was senior vice president of communications.
Hughes led all communication and press outreach for the two teams and arena and oversaw the Hawks and Thrashers radio talent and production from the company’s March 2004 inception. Hughes was also senior director of media relations for the Thrashers beginning with the team’s 1999-2000 inaugural season. Prior to the Thrashers, Hughes was director of public relations for Turner Sports and worked for Turner Broadcasting System.
Active in the community, Hughes coaches youth basketball, sits on the boards of directors for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Georgia and the Brookhaven Rotary Club. He also is part of the Communications Committee for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Georgia, sits on the School of Business Advisory Board for the American InterContinental University Atlanta Campuses (Dunwoody and Buckhead) and participates in a mentoring program through Georgia State University’s International Business program through the J. Mack Robinson School of Business.
