Robert E. (Bob) Hope - President

Bob Hope is one of the most experienced public relations counselors in the country lending his expertise to Hope-Beckham clients as co-owner and president. He began his public relations career while in college and has been in the business more than 40 years in senior positions in companies and agencies.

He became known in Atlanta as public relations director of the Braves when Hank Aaron chased and broke Babe Ruth’s home run record. He was publicist and promoter for Ted Turner and the various Turner companies, reporting directly to Ted. He was featured in the recent autobiography of Turner, Call Me Ted.

Following a stint at The Coca-Cola Company, he went into the agency business with Cohn & Wolfe in Atlanta. When the agency was bought by Burson-Marsteller, he moved to New York as executive vice president and head of marketing worldwide for the world’s largest agency.

Bob is known for his creative communications solutions for high profile products, companies and individuals. He has also worked extensively in sports and crisis communications. His clients have included top corporate leaders like Ted Turner and Wayne Huizenga, as well as top companies like The Coca-Cola Company, Turner Broadcasting, Federal Express, General Electric, IBM and others.

He is an active member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta. Recently named to the Carter Center board of councilors, he serves on the boards of the Atlanta Sports Council, the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Women’s Sports Foundation, Honduras Outreach and HAVE Foundation. He is a founder and vice chairman of HAVE Foundation, which funds schools in rural areas of Honduras. He was formerly on the boards of the Atlanta Braves and the Ottawa Senators.

Hope and his daughter Clair sing in the choir at First United Methodist Church of Decatur, where he is a member and on the administrative council. He and his wife Susan live in Stone Mountain. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.
